On July 24, 2025, two Texas Roadhouse locations, Texarkana and Corpus Christi, hosted extraordinary events that doubled as a Special Olympics fundraiser Texas locals will remember. These events reflected authentic community engagement, combining delicious food and heartfelt service to fund athlete programs across Area 10 and beyond.
In Texarkana, the evening’s centerpiece was Tip‑A‑Cop, where uniformed officers from Law Enforcement Torch Run Texas swapped patrol cars for aprons. From 5 to 9 p.m., officers served meals, refilled drinks, and handed out bonus rolls, all while collecting donations for Special Olympics Texas. The event’s energy was amplified by the presence of Area 10 Representative Kendra Cooper and her son Odin, a proud Special Olympics athlete. As Cooper confirmed, every tip and sponsorship dollar raised directly benefits local programs, from health screenings and competition travel to uniforms and training support.
Less than 400 miles south, in Corpus Christi, a lively Rib Eating Contest brought together law enforcement, media, and firefighters in a messy but meaningful competition. Team Law Enforcement sprinted to victory, adding smiles and sauced ribs to the evening, yet the trophy was secondary to the funds raised for the Special Olympics fundraiser Texas effort. KRIS 6 News reporter José Luis Martínez joined Team Media, reminding everyone that participation, and generosity, truly is the win.
